Maheshinte Prathikaram, Artist, Left Right Left, & Mayaanadhi come quite close too. Unforgettable theater experience too (especially since I was quite seriously dating a Tamil girl myself at the time).
The movie I LOVE the most/is closest to my heart (& this is what I myself usually mean when I say "favorite") is Premam - it captured the sparklingly spirit of youth unlike no other, AND was infused with sheer love for cinema - both artistry & technique - in every moment/frame. Honorable mentions to Ponthan Maada, Kireedam, Vidheyan, Nadodikkaattu, Ee Ma Yau, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum etc The greatest imo are Oru Vadakkan Veera Gaadha & Vaanaprastham 'Movie I can rewatch the most', 'movie I love the most' & 'greatest Malayalam movie of all time imo' are three different things though - and I'm not sure which you're asking for here.
